Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act

Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act or HIPAA has language that includes the use of interpreters and allows health care providers who act as a “covered entity” to utilize their services. HIPAA also provides guidance on the use of interpreters. A “covered entity” may also be required to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
